Major Addresses:
Embracing Change and Going Deeper -- Vatican II and the New Translation - Jerry Galipeau
     This session will look at significant moments of change and growth in the Catholic Church in America. It will look at the purposes and reasons behind these changes and the impact they have and/or will have on the Catholic faithful as a whole. This session will delve into the Second Vatican Council and some common misinterpretations that arose out of the Council. It will define what the Council's statements truly mean for the Church and the great undertakings that the Council accomplished. It will also delve into the New Translation of the Roman Missal and prepare the faithful for the implementation of this change. It will address the reasons behind the new translation, its benefits, and the impact it will have. The goal of this talk is to give people a positive outlook on these changes and how the Church continually responds to the needs of her people. It will draw the faithful into full and active participation in the liturgy.


An Evening of Adoration - Fr. Bob Lombardo, C.F.R.
     This session will address the centrality of the Eucharistic mystery as the source and summit of our faith. It will include solemn exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with time for both silence and praise and worship led by our guest musician, Bob Rice, in the Eucharistic presence of Our Lord. It will also include an address on "The Eucharist and Tradition," which will look at how all of the traditions in the Catholic Church point to and flow from the Eucharist. Whether one be charismatic, traditional, or somewhere in between, it is in the Eucharist that we find our unity and are one in and as the Body of Christ. The evening will end with procession and optional adoration until midnight.

Meaningful Communication in a Communication Age - Fr. John Russell, O.Carm.
     This session will address the art of communication in this age where communication is literally at our fingertips, but often superficial and lacking true sincerity and genuineness. It will look at meaningful communication and the value of conversation, listening, and silence. It will speak on the necessity of relationship in our lives and the importance of communication not only with each other, but also with God through constant prayer. 


Concurrent Sessions:
Life in the Spirit - Sr. Mary Rose Bratlien, T.O.R.
     This session will give a brief history of charismatic prayer dating all the way back to the Apostles in the Scriptures.  It will discuss the beauty of charismatic prayer and its proper place within the Catholic Church. It will give a deeper understanding of the gifts, charisms, and manifestations of the Spirit, and will include brief time for prayer and Praise and Worship with our music group. (Note: More time will be available during free time to participate in Praise and Worship).

The Connection Between the Beauty of a Happy Death and the Seven Last Words of Christ - Mgsr. James Turro
     This reflection will look at the beauty and grace of a happy and holy death. It will connect it to Christ's own death and the last words that He spoke before He gave up His spirit. It will encourage the faithful to find hope and joy in death, as it is the gateway to the heavenly life we were created for. It will also include time for guided prayer.

An Overview of Lectio Divina - Sr. Lois Wetzel, O.Carm.
     This session will look at this traditional practice of scriptural prayer and meditation. It will explain how to practice Lectio Divina and how to use this art of prayer to enrich and enlighten both one's daily prayer practices and one's study of Scripture. Time to pray together will be included. (Note: More time will be available during free time to pray using Lectio Divina).

The Dignity of the Human Person - Nate and Christa Krakowski
     This session will address the dignity of the human person in all stages of life, from natural conception to natural death. It will address the sanctity of life as understood by the Catholic Church in such documents as the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Humanae Vitae. It will remind us that different devotions within and approved by the Church reflect the times and peoples of different ages, and are to be respected as such by the faithful, so as not to offend the dignity of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Being a Holy Family Amid the Stresses of Today's World - Sr. Anne Bryan Smollin, CSJ, Ph.D.
     This session aims to assist Catholic families dealing with the various stresses in family life from newlywed couples starting a family, dealing with troubled teens, to caring for elderly and dying parents. Using the Holy Family as the model for all families it will provide practical ways for Catholic families to remain united and grow in holiness together. 

The Aging Process Through the Eyes of Faith - Sr. Peter Lillian Di Maria, O.Carm.
     This session will focus on the aging process and accepting one's physical and cognitive limitations. It will examine the need for faith in the midst of suffering and struggle, and the great value of redemptive suffering as understood in different documents and by the great saints of the Church.
